[∆PP∆RƏNT] B0DY ∆RT

"In our palliative society, pain is silenced before it could become a story." — Byung-Chul Han

Pain is real. Digitalisation is anaesthesia.

[∆PP∆RƏNT] B0DY ∆RT goes into the visceral metamorphosis of the human species — the place where synthetic flesh meets inert code in a digital realm built to deny both. The AI generates bodies. Bodies that should be perfect, corrected, optimised, rendered comfortable. Instead these bodies carry what the synthetic was supposed to hide: disease, alteration, mark, wound, scar. The apparent reveals the real. What was built to conceal becomes the instrument of exposure.

The body and the mind are not separate. The chronic condition lives in both, negotiates with both, breaks down in both. The work emerged from a personal struggle with illness — the body as something that can't be controlled, that refuses the logic of optimisation, that exists in permanent negotiation with its own limits. Physical pain and mental pain occupy the same space. Isolation is where both are most visible. These bodies are alone. Isolated. Protagonists of a staging of pain without shame, without consolation, without resolution.

The synthetic, which should have concealed the pain, instead makes it the only thing visible.

Apparent — visible and illusory at once. The body the image keeps trying to escape. Art that refuses to look away. Made without apology in a society that was engineered to make it disappear.
